Hi, I'm Alice.
I'm 13, and I've lived my whole life believing that two things matter most: being outside and making things beautiful. Those two things probably sound like opposites, but for me they go together perfectly.
When I'm outside — hiking with my family, jumping on the trampoline in the backyard, or floating at the lake — I notice everything. The way afternoon light hits a mossy rock. The color of the sky right before it rains. The way a forest trail feels different depending on the time of day.
And then I bring all of that inside. Into my room. Into how I arrange things on my desk. Into the colors I imagine for rooms I haven't even designed yet. That's where my love for interior design started — just paying attention.
This website is my journal on the internet. A place to share what I love, what I'm learning, and what I'm dreaming about.

Reading
A book about a girl who crosses the country on a river raft. It has the best map inside the cover.
Designing
Redoing my bedroom — I want to bring the outdoors in with lots of plants and earthy colors.
Obsessed with
Sage green. It goes with literally everything and makes a room feel calm.
Listening to
Whatever's on in the car. But lately I've been really into folk music while I sketch.
Exploring
A new trail my dad found. It goes up a ridge and you can see the whole valley at the top.
Learning
How to make color palettes that actually go together. It's harder than it looks!

Favorite color
Green — specifically that golden-green you get when sun shines through new leaves in May.
Favorite season
Summer, no contest. Long days, warm rain, the lake, the trampoline, bare feet in the grass.
Favorite room I've redesigned
My bedroom. I've rearranged it six times. My mom says seven is her limit.
Favorite place in the world
The ridge trail near our house. At the top you can see farms and hills and it feels like the world is enormous.
Favorite design trick
Moving the biggest piece of furniture first. Everything else sorts itself out after that.
Favorite food
Homemade mac and cheese. The kind that takes an hour and is absolutely worth it.
Dream destination
Italy. The colors of the buildings, the narrow streets, the light on old stone walls. I need to see it.
